How to Create Catchy Email Titles? 6 Tips & Examples for You!

Marketing

With a booming global market, email marketing has become a key strategy for many companies to expand their business and win new customers. In this competitive environment, a compelling email title is an important factor in attracting readers and ensuring they open and read the email.

Creating an optimal email title attracts readers' attention, arouses their interest and curiosity, motivates them to open the email, increases open and read rates, and further shapes brand image and brand awareness, builds initial customer trust and loyalty, establishes a close connection with the target audience, and enables personalised marketing and effective communication.

1. Short and attractive words

The title of the email should be concise and able to clearly communicate the content and purpose of the email. Avoid long or vague words so that the reader knows at a glance what the email is about.

Use simple language to create an authentic and compelling subject, such as "Only today, a great discount!" or "A limited time offer you don't want to miss!" Use a few punchy words to convey the subject of the email and entice the reader to click through.

Add keywords or phrases to grab the reader's attention, such as "Free Trial", "Limited Edition", "Exclusive Offer", "One Time Only! ", "Only you can", etc.

Use curiosity to create an intriguing theme, such as "The secret is out", or "My favourite secret weapon", "The first message, only you!"

2. Personalisation and positioning

Understanding the culture, values and preferences of your target audience and incorporating this information into the creation of your email title can make readers feel valued and understood. Using product or other personalised information to increase users intimacy and create topics that people want to know more about through precise, concise yet personalised language can increase email open and click-through rates.

Use the reader's name or a relevant personalised message, such as "Dear XX, this special offer is only available to you!" "I hear you've been anxious about your looks lately, choose us to drop the anxiety."

Position the product according to the interests and needs of the target audience, e.g. "Want a fit body? Check out our latest fitness programme!" , "Your special recipe has been airdropped, click to claim it".

Use things, events or festivals that resonate with your audience, e.g. "Autumn is here, enjoy warm offers together!"

3. Emphasise unique selling points

Increase conversion rates and sales by using enticing promises and clear call-to-action verbs to generate interest and action.

Highlight the features and benefits of your product or service, such as "The first restaurant to support no-touch delivery", "Our products use all-natural ingredients!" , "Fake it or lose it! I have a wide variety of everything you like!" .

Emphasis on unique value propositions, such as "We're cheaper than the competition and better than the competition!" and "New formulas are designed to reduce costs and increase efficiency."

Highlight limited-time or limited-quantity offers, e.g., "Only a few spots left!" "Last day of special offers!" "This is the only summer to get your tan on!"

4. Use emotions and sentiments

When the email title and the reader's needs coincide, also further hook the other side of the demand and desire to buy.

Trigger the reader's emotional response, such as "stories that move you instantly", "heartbreaking truths", "let's explore the secrets that amaze everyone!", "just because I happened to meet you", "the secret of the world's most beautiful people".  These titles encourage the readers and also promote the effectiveness of the product, increasing the reader's psychological recognition.

Use positive emotions, such as happiness, excitement, and satisfaction, to capture the readers' interest and attention, e.g. "Your happiness programme has been delivered, click to claim it."

Use negative emotions, such as anxiety, worry, confusion, etc., to stimulate the reader's curiosity and desire for solutions, "Do not be anxious about your body, it is not too late to take action", "Why are you still awake? Aren't you sleepy? Come and click to see it".

5. Provide solutions

Emphasise that your product or service solves the reader's problem or meets their needs, e.g. "Stop worrying about greasy hair!", "Say goodbye to sleepless nights! , "Say goodbye to sleepless nights!" , "Don't let hair loss be a regret of youth."

Emphasise convenience and results, e.g. "easy and quick solution" or "immediate results".

Use success stories or testimonials, such as "Hundreds of customers have experienced it for themselves!" or "95% of users have used it. or "95 per cent user satisfaction!"

6. Create a sense of urgency and a call to action

Emphasise time constraints, e.g. "Only two days left!", "Countdown to purchase! "The countdown has begun!" and "Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis."

Offer unique deals or incentives, such as "Just follow us on social media to get special offers!" or "Buy one, get one free, today only!"

Calling readers to take immediate action, such as "Click the link now to make your life better!" or "Experience unparalleled service!"

Email is just a tool for publicity and marketing. Attracting customers with a good title is only a prerequisite, but retaining them is the key point to focus on. Only by fully promoting, elaborating and sharing the product features, allowing customers to build awareness and improve the product selling points and services, in order to better reach a deal.
